Ventrillo Locks up Pc forcing reboot

http://www.gogclan.com/modules.php?...05b5e80766129c0

I know the cause, I just need a way round it.

While ventrillo is running my comp will randomly lock up, could be anywhere from straight away, to an hour, but eventually it'll totally lock my system and force me to reboot, and this continues every so often until vent is turned off.

I know its vent causing it as my comp runs 24/7 and if I turn vent off before going to bed, my comps still fine when I get home from work the next day, but when I turn on vent after a while it locks again.

I've also tried closing down all other programs except norton antivirus and norton personal firewall, and tried a different soundcard, also changed settings in vent but nothings helped.

I've pretty much gave up trying to fix it as I've tried everything I can think of, so if anyone else had this problem and sorted it, can you let me know how please.

I've also reinstalled latest versions of all drivers, including Bios

someone mentioned there was a 'safemode' version of vent?

Is there, and where can it be downloaded please

I'm using ver 2.14 as the later versions aren't supported on our game servers

No, there is not a safemode version of Ventrilo.

Although I am not positive the Process Priority is in 2.1.4 but I remember it being there and may be something to try. Goto Setup->Misc. Set the process priority to high.
